OUR PHILOSOPHY

Hello, we are Manel and Hanna. We met at a job in Barcelona many years ago, but left work quite fast and went on a trip together. We traveled for a few years while working remotely until we finally moved back to Spain recently, two kids and two dogs more, to start a new life surrounded by nature. Manel studied footwear design and Hanna studied textile engineering and are excited to, now with this project, combine again what we originally had studied. But after being vegan foodbloggers for some years, writing a cookbook and so on, how did we come up with this project all of the sudden? It was when our first child turnt one and started walking and we checked for appropiate shoes.

We learnt about barefoot shoes and were totally convinced, but we finally realized: “Why do we adults stuff our feet into shoes that are actually too small for the normal shape of our foot?”. The idea to create our own barefoot shoes came about when we simply couldn’t find any beautiful sneakers that matched our style. So one day Hanna said to Manel “I am going to wear barefoot shoes, but only if you design me some.” Manel took this very serious and with a piece of paper and a pan the “project 080” was born.
